World Marine has a team of skilled engineers and designers to get projects done in a safe and timely manner. Our Engineering department is composed of dedicated, experienced engineers, designers and support personnel. Our Engineering staff is based on current workload. Some activities may be accomplished by specialty engineering subcontractors to augment in-house personnel. The department undertakes a broad spectrum of activities in support of all facets of production. The primary focus of the department is production support, including feasibility studies and production drawing development in 2D and 3D. World Marine designers have the ability to laser scan existing structures and develop 3D models. This work can be used to replace existing systems or determine the amount of available space for new structures and/or systems. These 3D models can be used to develop production drawings or drawings representing current as-built conditions on the vessel. Staff engineers assess specifications and develop guidance drawings, piping diagrams, complex lift plans based on shipyard capabilities, and scantling drawings in support of detail design activities. The design group is composed of three main elements: structural, mechanical and electrical designs. The group works together to develop detail design packages for construction activities.
